Aoife Tinnelly, 24, from Kilkeel, died in a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Newry Road on April 20. The crash involved a white Audi A1 and a blue Mercedes-Benz and occurred shortly before 6.30pm. Emergency services attended the scene where Tinnelly was pronounced dead. Two other people received hospital treatment for injuries.

Her family announced funeral arrangements. Remains will repose at the family home in Kilkeel on Thursday and Friday from 2pm to 9pm. Removal takes place Saturday at 10.30am to St Colman's Church, Massforth, for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Tinnelly was the daughter of Jarlath Tinnelly, an independent councillor on Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. She was the sister of Daire, Odhran and Maisie Tinnelly.

The PSNI Collision Investigation Unit continues enquiries. Detective Inspector Stewart stated police received a report of the collision and attended with other emergency services. The Newry Road was closed temporarily for examination but has reopened.
