Cookstown Spring Market Prompts William Street Road Closure
Cookstown's annual Spring Market takes place on William Street on Saturday, May 9, and Sunday, May 10. The event runs from 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.
A road closure affects William Street from 6pm on Friday, May 8, until around 10pm on May 10. The closure spans from the Orritor Street/Coagh Street junction to the Burn Road/James Street junction.
Traders from across Europe and further afield attend the market. Stalls offer international cuisine including street food and sweets, plus handcrafted goods and artisan products.
Live music and family entertainment feature at the event. Deputy Chair of Mid Ulster District Council Councillor Denise Johnston stated that the market provides a chance to highlight Cookstown's diversity and energy.
Johnston added that William Street fills with traders and visitors, generating activity in Cookstown. She invited people to attend, enjoy the setting, and back the longstanding occasion.
