Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors in Lisburn will hold a celebration of life for Margaret Ellen 'Peggy' Murdoch, aged 81, at their Ballinderry Road church. The event is scheduled for Friday April 24 at 2.30pm, followed by a private cremation.

Murdoch died on April 9 at a hospital. She had resided at Lisadian House Nursing Home in Hillsborough, El Shammah Nursing Home in Lisburn, Wilson Street in Lisburn, and Seacash Walk in Antrim.

The South Eastern Trust had no next of kin details for her. The funeral directors issued a social media appeal to locate relatives or acquaintances, which received widespread shares.

No surviving family members were contacted despite the effort and additional information gathered. The directors decided to proceed with the funeral arrangements without known relatives.

A government agency will cover the cremation costs. Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors will absorb all other expenses. Volunteers have offered free services for the event, with some contributions accepted.
