Ronnie Thompson Funeral Directors in Lisburn will hold a celebration of life for Margaret Ellen 'Peggy' Murdoch, aged 81. The service takes place at their Ballinderry Road church. A private cremation follows.

Murdoch died at a hospital on April 9. She resided at Lisadian House Nursing Home in Hillsborough. Previous addresses include El Shammah Nursing Home in Lisburn, Wilson Street in Lisburn, and Seacash Walk in Antrim.

The South Eastern Trust provided no next of kin details. Funeral director David Jess launched a social media appeal to find relatives or acquaintances. The appeal received tens of thousands of shares.

No surviving family members came forward despite the response. Jess noted neighbours from her past addresses offered help. Some pledged to attend the funeral.

Offers included singing and providing flowers at the service. A celebrant will lead the event and speak with contacts for details on Murdoch's interests.
