Fundraiser Launched for Family of Missing Armagh Mother Found Dead
A 24-year-old mother of two from Gilford in County Armagh was found dead on February 7 after going missing the previous month. Police conducted searches in the area after she was last seen on January 31 near Derry Road and Lord Lurgan Park.
She had left a friend's home around 12:30pm that Saturday. Officers reviewed CCTV footage during the week-long effort to locate her.
The woman left two young children, aged two years and 13 months. Her funeral took place after a Requiem Mass at St Patrick and St Colman's Church in Laurencetown. Attendees learned she had received recognition for helping save someone's life.
Family friend Nicola Cully started an online fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses and provide stability for the children. Cully stated the family faces grief, child-rearing duties and financial strain amid unresolved questions about the death.
Funds aim to cover burial costs and support the children without adding economic pressure on relatives.
