The Education Authority in Northern Ireland has instructed schools to reset passwords for the C2K IT system following a cyberattack. The system provides online and IT services to schools and is managed by Capita.

Failure to complete the reconnection process will limit access to email and other dependent services at the start of the new school term. Primary and post-primary schools must initiate resets as soon as possible.

C2K managers at each school can contact the service desk at 0800 0931 541 to begin the process. The desk operates from 8am to 5pm through the weekend.

Resetting passwords will allow staff and students to regain access and obtain service recovery updates. The C2K network supports curriculum activities.

Last week the Education Authority apologised for disruptions affecting pupils, including those preparing for exams during the Easter break. The attack prevented logins for schools and students.
