Police in Enniskillen seized a scrambler bike on Saturday after reports of reckless driving in the town.

The Enniskillen Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out an operation following complaints from residents. Officers spotted the bike travelling at speed on a public road in the Cornagrade area.

The driver faces a court appearance.

A PSNI spokesperson noted that some scramblers do not meet construction and use regulations or vehicle safety standards. These bikes count as off-road vehicles only.

The spokesperson said such vehicles require operation on private land with landowner permission. Driving them on pavements, roads, public property or parks violates regulations.

Insurance and safety equipment must comply with legal requirements, the spokesperson stated.

Police asked residents to keep reporting illegal and dangerous bike operation to enhance road and park safety.
