Police officers seized a scrambler bike in the Craigyhill area of Larne on Friday, March 27. The driver faced interview over multiple road traffic offenses.

A PSNI spokesperson noted that illegal scrambler use poses serious safety risks. The bikes often lack insurance and tax, which leaves accident victims without options for compensation.

Officers highlighted that the vehicles get ridden on pavements and in public parks, endangering pedestrians and children. Poor maintenance or modifications also threaten riders.

PSNI pledged ongoing patrols across the district to address anti-social driving and take such vehicles off the streets.

Residents can report information on bike storage or riders by calling 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
