A 58-year-old man from Belcoo, County Fermanagh, is wanted by police after failing to attend court on a burglary charge.

Timothy Walsh, of Cornacully Road, was due to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court. He is accused of burgling Omagh Orange Hall on November 24 last year, causing damage to windows and floorboards, and stealing money.

When the case was called, there was no response from the courthouse foyer. Defence counsel Joe McCann attempted to locate Walsh and later told the court he had received an email from a relative stating Walsh would not be attending.

District Judge Rosie Watters ordered a warrant for Walsh's arrest to bring him before the court.

No details of the alleged circumstances were disclosed during the short hearing, but a police detective indicated Walsh could be connected to the offences.

The case was adjourned pending Walsh's apprehension.
