National Trust Closes Crom Estate Campsite in Fermanagh
The National Trust has decided to keep the campsite at Crom Estate in Fermanagh closed. The organisation conducted a review of the long-term operation, maintenance and investment needs for its accommodation sites. Crom Estate itself will stay open to visitors.
The campsite had attracted visitors to Fermanagh for years. The decision follows an assessment of requirements to maintain the site's viability. No reopening is planned.
In January, a National Trust spokeswoman stated that the organisation would not disclose staffing changes at individual properties. Properties in Fermanagh operated by the National Trust include Florence Court, Castle Coole and Crom Estate.
Months ago, concerns arose about potential risks to jobs and funding at Fermanagh properties. The National Trust did not comment on those concerns at the time.
