Technology leaders from Europe attended BelTech in Belfast. The conference featured talks on software engineering trends toward 2026. Dave Farley, founder and managing director of Continuous Delivery Ltd, delivered the keynote address.

Panels included Ireland's engineering experts discussing modern software engineering roles. A session titled 'Learning the Craft in the Age of Copilots' featured early-career engineers addressing security and responsible AI use.

Participants included Edgars Pavlovskis of Options IT, Steven Morton of Rakuten, Kevin Higgins of Allstate, Jessica Barr of Aflac NI, Cllr Tracy Kelly, Lord Mayor of Belfast, and Síona O'Reilly of Kainos.

BelTech EDU followed on Friday for over 400 students from Northern Ireland. Industry leaders presented career paths and technology opportunities.

Kainos and Allstate curated the event. Supporters included Options IT, Belfast City Council, Unosquare, Aflac NI, and Rakuten.

Síona O'Reilly, principal architect at Kainos, stated the conference showcased innovation and shared successes and challenges to advance the industry.
