New Arrests Advance Probe into 2005 Lisa Dorrian Murder
Detectives investigating the 2005 murder of Lisa Dorrian in Bangor have arrested a 40-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man. The pair were detained on 25 February on suspicion of murder, assisting offenders, withholding information, and preventing a lawful burial. Both were released on bail for further inquiries.
Lisa Dorrian disappeared from Ballyferris caravan park near Bangor on 28 February 2005 after attending a party. Her body has never been found despite multiple searches and prior arrests in the case.
Joanne Dorrian, sister of the victim, received significant information from an individual last year about events on the night of the disappearance. She passed the details to police. Joanne Dorrian stated that such actions by members of the public aid the investigation.
The family views the recent arrests as progress in the long-running case, especially near the 21st anniversary of the disappearance. They expressed renewed hope and confidence in the Police Service of Northern Ireland handling of the matter.
Police continue to seek information from anyone with knowledge of the case. Contact can be made via 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
