Police in the Derry City and Strabane District confiscated a scrambler bike after armed response officers observed it being ridden dangerously on a public road.

Officers saw the rider performing wheelies, which posed a risk to other road users. When signalled to stop, the rider stalled the vehicle and fled on foot.

Checks confirmed the bike was being used without insurance. Officers then seized the vehicle.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "This type of behaviour is reckless, illegal, and poses a serious danger to the rider and others in the community. We will continue to take action against those using vehicles illegally or in an anti-social and dangerous manner."
