Cloughey suffered a 5-2 home defeat to Cooke Athletic in a Down Area Winter League division one match on Saturday.

The game marked the first fixture for Cloughey's newly appointed management team of Ryan McDowell, Curtis McClements, and John Mawhinney.

Cooke Athletic opened the scoring in the fourth minute through Christopher Rolston, who struck after Ilya Farmer floated a corner into the goalmouth. Rolston added a second goal in the 11th minute, again assisted by Matthew Johnston.

Colin Wilson extended the visitors' lead to 3-0 just before half-time.

In the second half, Cloughey continued to press forward, with Shea Smyth and Joshua McClements creating opportunities. However, Johnston scored Cooke's fourth goal on the hour mark.

Cloughey got on the scoresheet in the 68th minute through Drew Coffey. Sean Neill then netted for Cooke in stoppage time to make it 5-1, but Coffey converted a penalty right before the final whistle to complete the scoring at 5-2.
