A tribunal in Belfast has ruled that Quintilian AI Limited must pay a former employee more than £23,000 in unpaid wages, pension contributions, and holiday pay.

The case was brought by Jonathan McChesney, who claimed the company made unauthorised deductions from his wages, failed to provide particulars of contract, and breached his contract. The respondent did not attend the hearing and was not represented.

Employment Judge Sturgeon, sitting alone at a hearing on 24 September 2026, found that the company failed to pay salary properly due to McChesney for three months. The tribunal awarded him £16,512.82 in unpaid salary.

The judge also ruled that Quintilian AI was contractually obliged to make pension contributions for McChesney but failed to do so for ten months. For those unpaid contributions, he was awarded £2,261.60.

In addition, the tribunal found that McChesney was entitled to £4,943.06 for accrued but unused holiday entitlement.

McChesney represented himself at the hearing. The judgment was issued to the parties on 5 October 2026 and will be entered in the register within seven days.

The tribunal noted that the judgment is relevant for the purposes of the Industrial Tribunals (Interest) Order (Northern Ireland) 1990, meaning interest may be payable on the amounts awarded.
