A Northern Ireland employment tribunal has ruled that SmartEpos NI Ltd must pay a former employee £2,733.58 in compensation, following successful claims for breach of contract and notice pay. The judgment was issued on 22 July 2026, following a hearing held in Belfast on 2 June 2025.

The claimant, Dominic Sherry Adams, brought the case under jurisdictions covering breach of contract and unauthorised deduction from wages. The tribunal found both claims to be well founded, reaching its decision unanimously.

The total award breaks down into two components: £2,690.00 representing the net equivalent of one month's notice pay, and £43.58 covering an agreed expenses sum.

Sherry Adams represented himself throughout the proceedings. SmartEpos NI Ltd was represented by its director, Barry Kirwan. The tribunal panel was chaired by Employment Judge Knight and included panel members Mr B Liggett and Mr R Bell.
