Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council has launched a public consultation on a proposal to build a 13-space car park on Station Road in Lambeg.

The scheme would deliver additional off-street parking, incorporating accessible bays and parent-and-child spaces, subject to community feedback and the necessary approvals. Council officials say the plan responds to growing parking demands on Lambeg Road and Station Road, and aims to improve safety for road users while providing better access to local amenities and green space.

A questionnaire is available from Thursday 30 July until noon on Saturday 16 August. Residents, businesses and visitors can submit their views online via the council's website.

A drop-in event will take place on Wednesday 5 August at Lambeg Parish Church Hall on Church Hill, running from 2.00pm to 7.00pm. Council officers will be present throughout the session to share details and answer questions.

Alderman James Baird, Chair of the Regeneration and Growth Committee, urged anyone with an interest in the area to take part. He said the council wanted to hear directly from local residents and visitors to ensure the proposal reflects community needs.
