A 41-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Paul Mackin Junior in north Belfast.

Mr Mackin, aged 44, died in hospital on Wednesday following a reported assault at a house on Duncairn Parade on Monday. Police subsequently launched a murder investigation.

The accused also faces charges of grievous bodily harm with intent and false imprisonment. He is due before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Friday.

A police spokesperson said a file would be sent to the Public Prosecution Service regarding additional alleged offences, and all charges will undergo review by the service.
