Louise McCaffrey, a mother of four from Dromore, has died peacefully at South West Acute Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Mrs McCaffrey worked as a classroom assistant at St Dympna’s Primary School. She was also involved in the parish of St Davog’s, Dromore, helping to produce bulletins for the church in Dromore and Trillick.

Fr Denis Dolan, parish priest of St Davog’s, said the town is in shock following her death. He noted the family had recently returned from a holiday. He described Mrs McCaffrey as a pleasant and helpful woman who was well-regarded by pupils and parents at the school.

Her funeral will be held on Friday at 11am at St Davog’s Church, with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. The cortege will leave her home on Shanmullagh Drive and travel along Main Street and the Omagh Road, arriving at the church for 10.50am.

She is survived by her husband Neill and children Emily, James, Grace and Ethan.
