A 37-year-old man has been returned for trial at Craigavon Crown Court accused of burgling a residential property in Moira.

Peter Garland, of Slievegallion Drive in Belfast, appeared at Lisburn Magistrates Court for a preliminary enquiry. He had previously entered a not guilty plea to the charge.

The alleged offence relates to a burglary at a dwelling on Halfpenny Gate Road, Moira, on dates between November 27 and November 28, 2025.

During the hearing, a public prosecutor submitted that there was a prima facie case to answer. The defence made no contrary submission.

When asked if he wished to say anything in response to the charge, the defendant made no comment.

District Judge Rosie Watters returned the case to Craigavon Crown Court for trial on September 10, 2026. Garland was released on his own bail of £500 pending the proceedings.
