Arrest Made After Suspicious Activity Reports in South Belfast
A 31-year-old man has been arrested in south Belfast following reports of suspicious behaviour on the morning of June 17.
Police were called to the Iverna Close area at around 7.35am after a man was seen trying to access several properties. Separately, a member of the public reported a man in the back garden of a home on Roosevelt Way carrying a bottle.
Officers attended and detained the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary, two counts of attempted burglary, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and common assault. He remains in police custody.
Sergeant Shortt said investigators are examining whether the two incidents are linked. No further details about the suspect or potential victims have been released.
