Michael McShane Appointed Antrim Senior Hurling Manager
Antrim GAA has named Michael McShane as its new senior hurling manager. The appointment will go before the county committee for ratification early next week.
McShane, from the McQuillan’s club in Ballycastle, has spent the last two seasons managing the Antrim under-20 hurlers. He guided that side to a Leinster U20B title in May, defeating Carlow in the final.
He brings senior inter-county experience from a previous role with Tyrone, and has also managed club sides Slaughtneil and his home club McQuillan’s.
Antrim chairman Seamus McMullan said McShane’s experience and deep knowledge of Antrim hurling made him a strong fit for the county’s ambitions. The senior team’s next competitive fixtures are not expected until 2027.
McMullan also praised the selection committee, describing the appointment process as diligent, thorough and professional.
