Lámh Dhearg Hurling Club Hosts Fundraiser Event with Guest Players
Lámh Dhearg GAA club in Antrim organised a hurling chat show fundraiser in their clubrooms on Friday evening. More than 100 people attended the event.
Guests included former Antrim captain Neil McManus, Clare captain Anthony Daly and former Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy. Club PRO Paul Buchanan compered the discussions.
The guests shared accounts from their playing and coaching careers. They offered guidance to young hurlers and coaching staff present.
During an interval, club trustee Sean Maguire presented a recognition award to former county secretary Frankie Quinn for his service to the club and county.
The panel discussed prospects for the All-Ireland championship. They agreed that qualifying from Munster will be challenging.
Sponsors included Beechlawn Hotel, Herron Paving and Groundworks, and RMC Building Services. Additional support came from Pizza Hut, Clean Vision Window Cleaning and senior hurlers who donated prizes.
