Postgraduate students from the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise have graduated with Master’s degrees from Queen’s University Belfast at a ceremony at Loughry Campus in Cookstown. The part-time, three-year programme is delivered by CAFRE and validated by QUB.

Dr Victoria Murphy, senior lecturer at CAFRE, said the graduates had shown commitment and determination, and the milestone was an opportunity to reflect on their achievements. She expressed confidence that their new skills would support career progression.

The course included six taught modules over two years, with one evening per week, followed by an independent research project in the final year. Dr Holly Mullan, course lecturer, said the programme built knowledge and confidence through practical learning and industry engagement, preparing students for leadership roles.

CAFRE also announced a refreshed postgraduate offering. From September 2026, the MSc in Strategic Leadership for Agri-Food will replace the previous MSc in Business for Agri-Food and Rural Enterprise, with a stronger focus on leadership skills.

Applications are open for the September 2026 intake for both full-time (one year) and part-time (three years) study. An online information webinar takes place on Wednesday 22 July 2026 at 1pm. Enquiries can be directed to Victoria.Murphy@daera-ni.gov.uk or the CAFRE website.
