Six-year-old girl dies after collision in Newry
A six-year-old girl has died following a road traffic collision in Newry.
Kourtney McCormick was hit by a van in the Springfarm Heights area on Sunday, June 21. She was taken to hospital but died from her injuries.
St Patrick's Primary and Nursery School, where Kourtney was a pupil, described her as a bright and gentle child who brought joy to the school each day. She was cherished by staff and classmates.
Her funeral will take place on Saturday, June 27, at St Brigid's Church, The Meadow, Newry, at 11am. The family has asked that those attending wear bright colours.
A community fundraiser has been set up by Francine Ruddy of the Martins Lane Area Community Association to support the family during this time.
