Six-year-old named as victim of Newry collision as woman released on bail
The child who died in a road collision in Newry on Sunday has been identified as Kourtney Khloe McCormick. She had recently turned six.
The incident happened in the Springfarm Heights area on the evening of 21 June and involved a black Ford Tourneo van. Kourtney was taken to hospital but died from her injuries.
Her older sister Jasmine posted a tribute on social media, describing Kourtney as a joyful and affectionate child who was greatly loved by her family. She said her sister would be deeply missed.
A 40-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the collision and has since been released on bail while police enquiries continue.
