The Delamont caravan site in County Down is set to reopen for the summer of 2026.

Newry, Mourne and Down District Council announced that the site, located beside Delamont Country Park on the shores of Strangford Lough, will operate daily through September. Bookings can now be made online.

The site offers serviced hard-standing pitches in a rural setting, with direct access to the 200-acre country park. The park features woodland and shoreline walks, picnic areas, a playground, miniature railway, coffee kiosk, and the Strangford Stone.

Visitors can use the site as a base for exploring nearby attractions, including the historic town of Killyleagh with its castle, and Downpatrick. The area is part of the Mourne Gullion Strangford tourism destination.

A programme of summer events includes meetings at Downpatrick Racecourse, Fleadh Cheoil an Dúin in Downpatrick, and Skiffie Fest at Delamont Country Park.

Council Chairperson Glyn Hanna said the site provides an opportunity for guests to enjoy the outdoors and take part in local events, highlighting its role in extending visitor stays and boosting the local tourism economy.
