Business leaders in Fermanagh have cautioned that recent violence and intimidation across Northern Ireland could cause lasting harm to the local economy and community relations.

Representatives from Enniskillen BID, the Fermanagh Lakelands hotels association, and the Enniskillen Business Partnership issued a joint statement on the matter.

They said there was no justification for attacks on individuals, property, or communities, and that such acts contradict the values of respect and inclusion.

Although Fermanagh largely avoided the worst of the disorder, a small protest gathering in Enniskillen on Tuesday night raised concerns.

The groups emphasised that no employee should feel unsafe travelling to work, and that businesses cannot function if fear takes hold.

They highlighted the dependence of Fermanagh's economy on a diverse workforce, including seasonal staff in tourism and hospitality, and migrant workers in sectors such as healthcare, construction, and manufacturing.

The statement warned that alienating these workers would undermine public services and harm local businesses, at a time when the region is working to attract tourists and investment.
