DUP MLA Calls for Practical Governance in Fermanagh Address
Jonathan Buckley, Upper Bann MLA and DUP Director of Campaigns, addressed a meeting of the Erne East branch in Brookeborough, County Fermanagh, at the weekend.
Buckley stated that Fermanagh residents possess a practical outlook suited to government. He positioned the DUP as advocates for decisions based on fairness and everyday realities rather than ideology.
He opposed gender ideology and called for achievable net zero targets. Buckley noted that current targets increase burdens on working people through green taxes amid rising fuel costs from Middle East instability.
These expenses affect family budgets daily, he said.
Buckley criticised Sinn Fein, the SDLP, and the Alliance Party for prioritising cultural agendas over financial impacts on residents.
He highlighted Fermanagh's unionism as an example of cooperation yielding better results than division. Such collaboration strengthens representation and delivers improved outcomes across Northern Ireland.
