Enniskillen man given suspended sentence for indecent exposure
A 48-year-old Enniskillen man has been sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for 12 months, for exposing himself to a female neighbour.
David Clinging, of Crichton Park, appeared at Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 8, charged with exposing his genitals to a woman on January 26, 2026.
The court heard that the woman was washing dishes in her home when she saw Clinging sitting in a chair by his window with the blinds open. He had his penis exposed and was masturbating using a device described as a penis pump, while moving his head to look at her.
Clinging had one previous conviction for exposure involving the same woman. His defence counsel acknowledged the seriousness of the incident and attributed it to alcohol and social isolation. Clinging expressed embarrassment and apologised through his lawyer.
District Judge Alana McSorley described the act as grossly offensive and imposed the custodial sentence, suspended for a year. Clinging was also placed on the sex offenders register for seven years.
