Utility Regulator Sets Out Financing Models for Future Interconnectors
The Utility Regulator has released an information paper on regulatory financing models for future electricity interconnection to Northern Ireland. It sets out key considerations relating to regulated operating revenue regimes for projects that would connect to the region.
The regulator also published a summary of responses to an earlier consultation on whether a regulated operating revenue regime is needed for future interconnection. Individual responses were released in full alongside the summary.
The papers do not specify any particular interconnection projects but outline the financial frameworks that could apply if such schemes were to go ahead.
