Antrim man fined after speeding on Glenshane Road
A 49-year-old Antrim man was fined after a court heard his Citroen Relay van was detected travelling at 59 mph on the A6 Glenshane Road in Maghera.
The offence occurred at 12.25pm on 6 November last year.
Antony McGahon of Jura Street appeared before District Judge Conor Heaney.
The vehicle is restricted to a maximum speed of 50 mph.
McGahon, who was not represented, told the court he had increased speed to overtake slow-moving vehicles before returning to the limit.
He has nine penalty points on his licence.
The court imposed a £75 fine plus a £15 offender's levy.
