BBC Springwatch begins live broadcasts from Fermanagh
BBC Springwatch is broadcasting live each night from Crom Estate in Fermanagh.
The production involves 95 staff and marks the first time the full outside broadcast has been based in Northern Ireland.
Cameras have been placed among trees, woodland and stone walls to record wildlife including house martins, swallows, swifts and a buzzard feeding chicks.
Presenter Michaela Strachan said she had not visited the area before and described the scenery around Upper Lough Erne as beautiful.
Executive Producer Rosemary Edwards said planning for the location began more than 18 months ago, with wildlife surveys conducted in spring before filming was approved.
Edwards said the programme aims to show viewers wildlife that can be seen locally rather than overseas.
Julie Johnston, Visitor Operations and Experience Manager for the National Trust in Fermanagh, said the broadcasts could encourage more visitors to stay in the area.
