Woman Charged Over Lurgan Police Station Bomb Attack as Two Remain in Custody
A 39-year-old woman faces charges linked to a bomb attack on Lurgan police station in March. She has been charged with obstructing police and is due at Craigavon Magistrates' Court on 3 June. Police released her unconditionally on counts of perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.
Two masked men hijacked a delivery driver six weeks ago. One held a gun and threatened to kill him unless he drove a bomb to the police station in central Lurgan. The incident occurred on the night of 30 March.
Police from the Terrorism Investigation Unit arrested three people in the Lurgan area. A 48-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were detained on 6 May under the Terrorism Act. Both remain in custody at Musgrave Serious Crime Suite in Belfast.
The 39-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, obstructing police, and assisting an offender. Searches continue in the Lurgan area.
