Antrim Man Granted Bail After Grievous Bodily Harm Charge
Alan Hutchings of Woodland Grove in Antrim town faces charges of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of cannabis. The alleged offences occurred on April 15.
He appeared via video link from prison at Antrim Magistrates Court in Ballymena on Tuesday. A police officer stated the injured party has not yet provided a statement. No statements from other complainants have been received.
The defendant acknowledged a figure on CCTV might have been him but said he could not remember. His defence barrister noted vulnerabilities.
Deputy District Judge Sean O’Hare granted bail for £500 to a police-approved address. Conditions include an electronic tag, a curfew from 10pm to 6am, no contact with the injured man, exclusion from Antrim town, and no alcohol.
The case is adjourned to May 19.
