Courts: £1.4m cocaine seizure, courthouse attack charges and indecent images case sent to Crown Court
BALLYMENA: A 36-year-old Randalstown man, appearing unrepresented at Antrim Magistrates Court, was granted bail and his case sent to Antrim Crown Court after he was charged with six offences relating to the possession and making of indecent images of children between June 2022 and October 2023, including a Category A video. The district judge urged him to seek legal advice, with arraignment scheduled for 13 May.
DUNGANNON: A 34-year-old man has been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon with intent, following an incident at Strabane Magistrates Court on 16 April in which a man threw hot water over another man, causing burn injuries to his face and upper body. He is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates Court on 18 April.
NEWRY: A 53-year-old Warrenpoint man, David Kelly, was remanded in custody after appearing at Newry Magistrates Court charged with five offences including being concerned in the supply of cocaine, possession with intent to supply, and possessing cannabis and criminal property - linked to a seizure of cocaine with an estimated street value of over £1.4 million. The case was adjourned to 29 April.
