Tyrone Fisherman Fined for Illegal Lough Neagh Activity
John Quinn, 52, from Derryloughan Road in Coalisland, Tyrone, received convictions at Dungannon Magistrates' Court for illegal fishing on Lough Neagh.
The court found him guilty of fishing within 1,610 metres of a salmon river mouth and using fishing nets lacking proper markings.
Officers observed Quinn committing the offences on June 26, 2025.
Judges imposed fines of £150 for each count, plus a £15 offender levy, totalling £315.
A DAERA spokesman stated that the Inland Fisheries Inspectorate targets illegal fishing in zones used by Atlantic salmon and trout.
The spokesman advised contacting DAERA Inland Fisheries at 0300 200 7860 for reports during office hours or 0800 807 060 outside those times.
