Susannah Dickey Publishes Third Novel Set in Northern Ireland
Susannah Dickey, a Derry native, has published her third novel titled Into the Wreck. The book centers on siblings Anna, Gemma and Matthew reuniting at their family home for their father's funeral. The siblings had not gathered under the same roof since Anna left at age 16 following their parents' separation.
The novel features the mother and cousin Amy at the family home. It divides into five parts with each character's point of view. The setting is Northern Ireland. The story includes the legacy of the Troubles as part of the characters' background.
Dickey previously published two novels, Tennis Lessons in 2020 and Common Decency in 2022. She also released a poetry collection, ISDAL, in 2023. ISDAL won the inaugural PEN Heaney award and was shortlisted for a Forward Prize.
