Hospitality Ulster supports the Public Health Agency's 'Talking Really Helps' campaign. The effort aims to encourage discussions about mental health and direct people to Lifeline, Northern Ireland's free confidential crisis helpline available around the clock.

The trade body provides resource packs to hospitality businesses throughout Northern Ireland. Packs contain posters, table tent cards, and vinyl stickers for windows and mirrors. Materials guide staff and customers to Lifeline support.

The campaign urges individuals facing anxiety, distress, or mental health crises to share their feelings and seek assistance. It also advises families and friends to spot signs of struggle and connect those affected to Lifeline.

Lifeline delivers immediate advice from trained counsellors any time, day or night. Callers reach the service at 0808 808 8000, 24 hours daily, seven days weekly, 365 days yearly. More details appear at www.lifelinehelpline.info.

Joel Neill, Operations Director at Hospitality Ulster, stated the organisation takes pride in distributing materials to its sector. He noted mental health issues affect all and hospitality workers have a duty to reassure those in need.

Sarah Reid, Senior Health and Wellbeing Improvement Officer at the PHA, said one in five people face mental ill-health at any time. She welcomed Hospitality Ulster's role, adding sector staff often first notice struggles among customers or colleagues.
