The Department of Health has launched a public engagement programme called This is our health. The Public Health Agency and Health and Social Care partners back the effort. The initiative seeks input to form a health and care promise between residents and the health system.

The promise covers steps for people and services to support healthier living and direct resources to priority areas. Targets include changing how the public uses care services, encouraging daily health prevention, building service capacity, and driving system changes.

Participation options include an online platform available any time on personal devices. The survey takes little time, allows anonymity, and uses questions matching those at in-person sessions.

Drop-in events take place at sites around Northern Ireland. Formats feature talks and interactive tools. Scheduled sessions are 2 March 2026 at Grand Central Station by Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, 3 March 2026 at Ulster University Magee Campus in Derry/Londonderry by Western Health and Social Care Trust, 9 March 2026 at Ballymena Health and Care Centre by Northern Health and Social Care Trust, 11 March 2026 at Lagan Valley LeisurePlex in Lisburn by South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, and 13 March 2026 at Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry by Southern Health and Social Care Trust. A Belfast Trust event on 7 March 2026 lacks a confirmed site.

These gatherings test approaches to collect opinions for the promise. The Public Health Agency is based at 12-22 Linenhall Street in Belfast.
