Met Office Issues Warnings for Storm Dave Across Northern Ireland
The Met Office has issued weather warnings for wind, rain and snow across Northern Ireland for the Easter weekend. Storm Dave will affect the region along with North Wales, northern England and Scotland.
Wind speeds could reach up to 90mph during the storm. Mountains in Scotland may receive 20cm of snow.
Conditions are forecast to improve next week. Temperatures could hit 23C in southern areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, exceeding the year's previous high of 20.9C recorded on March 18 near Aberystwyth.
The forecast covers April 8 to April 17. Atlantic frontal systems will track eastwards across the UK with strong winds at times.
Spells of rain or showers will occur, heaviest in the west and northwest. Drier periods are likely in the south and eastern areas.
Temperatures will average near normal overall. Short warm spells may appear in the south and east, while colder periods in the northwest could bring wintry showers to hills and overnight frost.
