Translink has assured that current parking and pedestrian access at Ballymena Train and Rail Station will remain available during construction of a new 387-space park and ride facility.

North Antrim MLA Paul Frew contacted Translink after constituents raised questions about the project off Princes Street. He confirmed the development adds capacity without replacing existing spaces.

Frew noted that the existing car park will continue for park and ride use. Pedestrian routes from Parkmore Drive and Upper Princess Street to the station will also stay open.

The MLA thanked Translink for the quick response to local queries. He plans to keep engaging as work advances.

The expansion aims to boost commuter capacity at the station.
