Road works begin on Ballymena Park and Ride expansion
Road works for the expansion of Ballymena Park and Ride will begin on 1 June and continue until the end of August 2026.
The works are taking place at Galgorm Road and Waveney Road.
The project will add 387 parking spaces and include improved pedestrian access, cycle facilities, and upgraded safety and security features.
Translink stated the facility will increase capacity and improve access to bus and rail services.
Off-peak lane restrictions and night-time working will be required during the works.
Roads will remain open but delays are expected, particularly during peak periods.
Reduced access for vehicles dropping off and picking up passengers will apply at the front of the station.
Translink project manager Terence Quinn said the works will encourage a shift from single-occupancy car journeys and support more sustainable travel choices.
Road users are advised to plan journeys in advance, allow extra time, and follow temporary traffic management and signage.
Passengers can check travel information at www.translink.co.uk or via the Translink Journey Planner app.
