Mid and East Antrim Borough Council partnership has launched a Local Action Plan allocating £5,085,224 from PEACEPLUS, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body, plus £748,000 from The Executive Office. The plan supports 15 programmes to benefit nearly 6,000 participants across the borough.

Projects target shared priorities, relationship building, and community development under PEACEPLUS themes. Junior Minister Joanne Bunting stated the projects aim to unite people, support shared spaces, promote wellbeing, and offer learning opportunities. Junior Minister Aisling Reilly noted the plan's ambition reflects local input and invests over £5 million to strengthen connections.

SEUPB Chief Executive Gina McIntyre highlighted the plan's co-design process involving residents, organisations, and statutory bodies to address borough needs. Mayor Councillor Jackson Minford said the programme will enhance community appearance, services, and inclusivity through stakeholder collaboration. Alderman Paul Reid, Partnership Chair, indicated programmes include shared spaces, sports facilities, and initiatives for wellbeing, equality, and development.
