The McNiece family of Newtownhamilton will hold a big breakfast fundraiser on Saturday March 28 from 7.30am to 12 noon at Hillview Park, home of Tullyvallen Football Club. The event targets 500 attendees with cooked breakfasts available on site or as takeaways. Advance orders for takeaways are accepted, and no reservations are needed.

Funds will support the Air Ambulance, Children's Kidney Fund and Pretty in Pink charity. The Air Ambulance airlifted a family member's husband in 2023. A nephew received dialysis for kidney issues at Royal Victoria Hospital. An aunt received support from Pretty in Pink amid breast cancer concerns.

In 2023 the family ran a similar event at the same venue for Marie Curie and Southern Area Hospice. Organisers served 600 people after expanding from a planned 400 and raised over £16,000.

The family credits local businesses for discounts and donations that enabled the effort. The late Nessie McNiece organised events including coffee mornings and walks in Gosford Forest Park. Nessie and husband Leslie had 10 children and 29 grandchildren.
