Cliftonville advanced to the semi-finals of the Toals County Antrim Shield with a 1-0 win over Glentoran at Solitude on Tuesday evening.

Ben Quinn scored the only goal early in the second half, finishing after a through ball from Brian Healy. The goal came against the run of play after Glentoran had controlled much of the first half.

Glentoran had chances before the break. Jordan Jenkins forced a save from goalkeeper PJ Morrison, and Conor McMenamin failed to pick out a teammate after an error in the home defence.

In the second half, Cliftonville had an opportunity to double the lead when Harry Wilson shot inches wide following a block. Glentoran pushed for an equaliser late on, with substitute Ben Gallagher hitting the post and Marcus Kane firing over from distance.

The win ends a run of five consecutive defeats for Cliftonville in all competitions. Manager Jim Magilton praised his team's courage and character after the match.

Cliftonville will host Bangor in the semi-final next month.
