Armoy Women's Institute has completed its annual outing with support from the National Lottery Community Fund. Members visited Killymoon Castle, where owner Dorothy Coulter gave a tour covering the building's aristocratic and military history and the restoration work carried out with community help. The group had tea and scones at the castle before travelling to Cookstown for shopping and a visit to The Royal Hotel.

This was not the first use of Lottery funding by the group. In September 2025, the fund paid for a trip to Belfast's Titanic Museum and the Leighinmohr Hotel. That same month, a grant also supported a crafting morning at Armoy Presbyterian Church hall.

The Institute said the grants ensure cost is not a barrier to participation and expressed gratitude to the National Lottery Community Fund.
