Communities Minister Gordon Lyons visited the Causeway Giants club in Armoy to inspect completed works funded by a £15,000 Olympic Legacy Fund grant.

The grant covered refurbishment of changing rooms and toilets at the club.

Improvements included upgrades to safety, quality, accessibility and durability of the facilities.

The Olympic Legacy Fund was established by the Department for Communities after the Paris 2024 Games to support modernisation of community sports facilities.

The Department secured £2.136 million for the fund, which is administered by Sport NI in partnership with Crowdfunder UK.

Sport NI Interim CEO Richard Archibald said the funding has helped clubs meet fundraising targets and improve facilities across Northern Ireland.

Gordon Lyons said the Causeway Giants play a central role in the community by supporting physical activity, health, confidence and social connections.
