A charity in Bessbrook has been awarded £8,565 from The National Lottery Community Fund to continue its work with older people in the area.

Young at Heart Bessbrook will use the grant to combat social isolation and promote physical and mental well-being among its members. The funding will help the group provide recreational and leisure opportunities in a welcoming environment.

Chairperson Philomena Morrow said the grant is a fantastic boost that allows the charity to keep fulfilling its commitment to the older generation, ensuring they remain connected, active and supported. She thanked National Lottery players for making the award possible.

The National Lottery Community Fund is the largest funder of community activity in the UK. It distributes money raised by National Lottery players to support good causes across the country.
