A staff member at The Gobbins visitor attraction in County Antrim has been recognized for providing inclusive customer care during a guided tour.

Leanne, who visited with her family, said they felt included from the start when Josh, a Visitor Attraction Officer, mentioned different sensory aspects of the tour during the safety briefing. As a neurodivergent family, this helped them feel informed and prepared.

Leanne said Josh checked on everyone throughout the tour, which took place in wet weather, and was very reassuring. She said the new experience could have been an anxious time for some, but Josh ensured it was not. She asked for thanks to be passed on for being so inclusive and supportive, adding the family had fun.

Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Alderman Thomas Gordon, praised Josh's professionalism and kindness. He said the feedback reflects the high standard of customer service and inclusivity the council aims to deliver across its visitor attractions. He congratulated Josh and thanked him for showcasing The Gobbins as a welcoming destination.

The recognition highlights the role of staff personal qualities in creating memorable visits, beyond training and procedures.
