Motorists travelling between Galgorm and Ballymena are now using a newly resurfaced stretch of the main route after work was completed during the summer holiday period.

TUV councillors Stewart McDonald and Matthew Armstrong said the completion of the work addressed an issue that had concerned local residents and their representatives for some time.

They stated that carrying out the resurfacing during the summer holidays, when school-related traffic was absent, helped avoid some of the worst potential disruption, although some disruption did occur while contractors were on site.

The route serves as a key connection between Galgorm and Ballymena and is used regularly by residents and other road users. The completed scheme comes amid wider calls for investment in road maintenance across the Ballymena area, and the councillors said TUV would continue to press for the local road network to be properly maintained.
